Watch Kid Cudi’s New Video for “Frequency”
The "Frequency" video sees a shirtless Cudi get in touch with nature and some beautiful ladies as he enjoys what is presumably a shroom-fueled love fest in the wild. The visuals are simultaneously dark and colorful, much like the music Cudi's provided for fans over the last eight years. In one part of the video Cudi shimmies around the seemingly enchanted forest, performing what could almost be described as a tribal dance. In between clips of Cudi's dancing, we see bejeweled women doing some dancing of their own as their movements are perfectly synchronized with the rhythm of Cudi's music. After a while, Cudi makes love to two of the paint-dipped women, and his vision of the forest becomes more colorful and bizarre than it was before. It's a striking new video that won't disappoint fans waiting for the "Pursuit of Happiness" performer's newest album. It now seems that it might be a while before it drops. Just over a week ago, Cudi checked himself into rehab in order to deal with his “depression and suicidal urges.” He went into detail in a heart-wrenching open letter.
“I am not at peace,” reads Cudi's letter. “I haven’t been since you’ve known me. If I didn’t come here, I would’ve done something to myself. I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life. Theres a ragin violent storm inside of my heart at all times. Idk what peace feels like. Idk how to relax. My anxiety and depression have ruled my life for as long as I can remember and I never leave the house because of it. I cant make new friends because of it. I don’t trust anyone because of it and Im tired of being held back in my life. I deserve to have peace.”
XXL is sending nothing but positive vibes to Cudi and his family in his time of need. You can read the rest of Cudi's letter below.
