XXL Freshman 2016 is coming and the freshman hopefuls are gearing up to possibly make this year’s class. With the 10th Spot voting happening now, we have to let the potentials tell us why they should appear on this year’s cover.

Next up is Worcester native Joyner Lucas. Known for his lyrical content and ferocious delivery, Joyner burst onto the scene in 2007 under the alias Future Joyner and joined the collective Film Skool Rejekts. After receiving praise from hip-hop media outlets online, Joyner then released his solo project Listen 2 Me. Later down the lane Joyner dropped the "Future" from his rap name and replaced it with Lucas. After receiving praise for his project last year, Along Came Joyner, the Massachusetts rapper looks to take things to the next level. Watch above as Joyner tells us why he should appear on the coveted XXL Freshman list.

The XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class.
