Craig David stopped by the UK's Capital FM station and did his thing over several instrumentals, including Drake's "Hotline Bling." The 34-year-old British artist is on a bit of a comeback tour and if the above is any indication, David still has a lot of gas left in the tank. While flowing over "Hotline Bling" and seemingly buying time, the beat flips to UK Grime artist Stormzy's "Shut Up" and David instantly perks up. Spitting a multisyllabic rhyme, David shows he has more than harmonies and hooks up his sleeve. Check out the video above.

David's rendition of "Hotline Bling" is particularly intriguing since rumors are circulating that the British import and Drake may be making a mixtape. During an interview with BBC 1Xtra, David cited "Hotline Bling" as one of his favorite songs and said that there is definitely chance a joint mixtape could materialize. "“When I saw Drake in this restaurant, we walked up to each other and there was this moment,” David recalls. “I was like, ‘Oh man [“Hotline Bling”] is all I’m listening to.’ And he was like, ‘Man I need to call my producer, if I can tell him right now that I’m with you, ‘Born To Do It’! The tunes you have.’ And this was kicking off.”

When the time is right, when it’s really right, and there’s the Craig David/Drake mixtape, I promise you, not on a ‘get gas, beg a man to be on his record’ kind of thing, because he’s the hottest thing right now. But he’d easily be like, ‘Yeah man I want to do that.'”
