Victims Of Gunfire In Doe B Shooting Suing Venue, Claim Security Was Bribed

Three of the five surviving victims of the shooting that took the life of Grand Hustle rapper, Doe B and two innocent bystanders are suing the Centennial Hill Bar & Grill in Montgomery, AL, where the incident occurred. Keldric Landon, Clarence Young, Jr. and Ferro Bennett have filed lawsuits against Centennial, The Flight LLC, its owner Nicole Bankhead, and the club’s security company, reports AL.com.

Young was shot once, Bennett three times, and Landon suffered multiple injuries requiring surgery. All three victims claim bouncers were bribed into allowing weapons into the venue. They are seeking compensation for medical expenses, loss of work, and pain and suffering.

As previously reported, Doe B and Kim Johnson were shot and killed December 28 at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill on Highland Avenue where the rapper was prepping to perform. Six other people were injured during the gunfire and taken to the hospital for their injuries, including the recently deceased Tim Hamilton. Two men, Jason McWilliams and Darius Thomas have turned themselves in to the authorities and have been charged with two counts of capital murder. More charges are surely pending with the recent news of Hamilton’s passing. Police believe the motive for B’s killing may have been an ongoing beef between Thomas and the accused. As a result of shooting, Mayor Todd Strange has closed the bar where the killings took place calling it a “imminent threat to the public’s safety,” also citing other violent incidents that have occurred at the venue in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012.
