Trevor Jackson's new music video is a powerful one that hits close to home for the singer. Jackson depicts the story of his cousin Randon, who was shot in the leg earlier this year, for his "Like I Do" video.

The video sees Jackson talking to Randon, who plays himself, over the phone. Jackson lets Randon know he's proud of him for his basketball achievements before Randon invites him to a party. Jackson is unsure if he can make it, but lucks out in not going. Violence erupts at the party as Randon is shot in the leg. The video depicts his struggle to rehab, but ultimately ends in triumphant as Randon is able to dunk again.

The music video is also dedicated to Jackson's cousin Mark Cotton, who was shot and killed in November. With recent shootings in Paris and San Bernardino, Jackson wanted to provide something uplifting in the midst of tragedy.

"I feel like we sometimes let our emotions and anger get in the way,” Jackson said. “Yeah, those [stories of shootings] upset me. Yeah, all those things I see make me angry. But I know everything that I do is going to be more powerful and touch more people in a positive way than if I go out there and cause havoc.”
