Meek Mill

As an artist on Rick Ross' famed Maybach Music Group label, Meek Mill became the voice for the voiceless through his music and activism. The North Philadelphia rhymer, born Robert Rihmeek Williams, started rapping at a young age and released his first mixtape, The Real Me, in 2006. He signed with Rozay's MMG imprint in 2011 and released his debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, in 2012. From that album came his blood-stained aspirational title track that has become the enduring Rocky theme for the underdogs surviving America's mean streets.

During his viable rap career, Meek has also suffered some bumps and bruises himself. His infamous feud with Drake was unexpected with both rappers delivering notable diss tracks at each other. Thankfully, they patched things up and collaborated on their 2019 song "Going Bad." During their ongoing feud, Meek's love affair with Nicki Minaj in 2015 was the topic of discussion on gossip blogs. But after two years of courtship, their relationship crashed and burned in 2017. In 2018, Meek was imprisoned for five months due to a probation violation, which kept him out of the public eye.

After his release, he embarked on a journey to assist former felons in escaping the cycle of probation. Meek joined forces with Jay-Z and a host of others to establish the Reform Alliance, a criminal justice reform organization. In 2019, Meek released Championships, a triumphant album that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Meek Mill continues to record music with the goal to have more dreams than nightmares.
