Spootfy just launched a ton of new features, including video content, podcasts, news, original programming and a new running program. All the new features launch on iPhones today across the nation, U.K., Germany, and Sweden beginning today, May 20. Further launches are coming soon. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek says their goal is to become the soundtrack of your life.

The streaming service's new video content will include original and rebroadcasted shows from Vice News, the BBC, NBC, Slate, E!, Adult Swim, MTV, Comedy Central, ESPN, Condé Nast, TED and more. Amy Poehler's Smart Girls website will also have a video series presented called "Dance Move of the Day," a series called "Turntable" that pairs chefs and musicians and more.

WNYC, American Public Media, the BBC, PRX, and more will have podcasts available. Tyler, the Creator and Odd Future, Icona Pop, Jungle, and Mike Skinner will also have radio shows hosted by Spotify. There's also special playlist for Spotify like "Spotify Now," which feature contains activity-specific playlists, meant to sync with different times during the day.

The new Spotify features are included in its $10-per-month subscription. With Jay-Z's Tidal music service expanding and Beats-based streaming service from Apple coming out soon, Spotify is trying to dominate.
