Hustlers prosper most in the black market if you let Rick Ross tell it. The Maybach Music Group head honcho knows all about that underground exchange considering he dedicated an entire album to its premise.

"In some way, form or fashion I feel we all touch that black market," the Miami native tells XXL. "It's gon' be interesting to see how deep you in it."

For XXL's Winter 2015 issue, Ross opened the doors to his Fayetteville, Ga. mansion for a photo shoot and gives some insight on his eighth studio album, Black Market, which he calls "some of my best work ever." Songs like "Silk Road" showcase the rhymer's code of conduct these days, maneuvering through life how he sees fit. "Accepting that street niggas we live by different rules / Pill poppin’ everyday I’m in a different mood," he spits.

Ross, sporting a fur-trimmed white leather jacket during the shoot, also reflects on his mindset while working on the album, which was interrupted by his three-week stay in jail for kidnapping charges. "So many different things going through my head," the 39-year-old shares. "Not only that, I was actually critiquing the music I had already recorded. Decided this wasn't even... I got too much to add to it, take from it. My first night home I recorded six tracks. The next night I believe it was four. And from that point on I maintained that same pace. So I was able to put out a mixtape and relentless freestyles and I'm gonna continue to do that."
