The Break Presents: Russ
With powerful songs like “Goodbye” and “We Should All Burn Together,” Russ is ready to make a dent in hip-hop. Stay wide awake.
Hometown: The Universe (never had a region I identified with, moved at weird times).
I grew up listening to: G-Unit, 50 Cent, Eminem, Dr. Dre, classic ’60s and ’70s, a lot of ballads, a lot of rock.
Most people don’t know I: I have two different color eyes, one black, one brown.
My style’s been compared to: I haven’t really read any comparisons yet. Someone said Eminem one time but I think thats just ’cause I’m white.
My standout records and/or moments to date have been: “Goodbye” and “We Should All Burn Together” have been my biggest songs so far. As far as moments, getting on MTV RapFix last summer was crazy. “Comin Thru” was played on The Wake Up Show a couple weeks ago and that was a trip ’cause I listened to myself on the radio for the first time. Shoutout to DJ Hyphen in Seattle at KUBE 93 ’cause that was the first time I had been on the radio. I just didn’t get to listen to it. He played “Goodbye” and “Problems.”
My goal in Hip-Hop is: To leave a massive dent in it and completely fuck it up in the best way possible and go down as the greatest.
I’m gonna be the next: Person that does this shit all the way right and doesn’t have any blemishes musically. Ima be the next me.
Standout: “We Should All Burn Together”
