After getting the streets buzzing with “Caroline,” up-and-coming rapper Mi$tro is ready to gain more recognition with his new mixtape, The Commonwealth 2. Read up on the kid before he drops his tape later today.

I grew up listening to: Jay Z, Cash Money, Lil Boosie, 50 Cent.

Most people don’t know: I make beats. I’m premiering some of my production for the first time on The Commonwealth 2. Also, I engineer a majority of my sessions.

My style’s been compared to: I’ve heard Kevin Gates, Jeezy, & Ace Hood before. Most likely because of my references to the streets.

My standout records and/or moments to date have been: My biggest standout moments to date are my performance at SXSW earlier this year and linking with Skrillex. I learned a lot from watching Sonny [Moore]. My standout records are “Caroline,” “Hold That” with Fat Trel and Yung Nilo and “New Jack City.” My new song “Bandz” is going crazy in the streets right now, so that’s standing out as well.

My goal in Hip-Hop is: My goal is to make an impact on the game. I want to be people’s motivation.

I’m gonna be the next: Mi$tro, I want to leave my own legacy.
