The Break Presents: Lil Bibby

Chicago is bubbling with new talent. Meet Lil Bibby, the 18-year-old who got co-signs from everyone to Drake and Kevin Durant. Let his tales from the hood speak for itself.

Standout: “For The Low”

Also check out: “How We Move” ft. King Louie

And: “My Hood” ft. Lil Herb

Name: Brandon “Lil Bibby” Dickerson

Age: 18

Hometown: Chicago

I grew up listening to: I grew up listening to Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane. I remember people use to always argue about who was best between the two.

Most people don’t know I: I am a very quiet person. With being a rapper I still have to get used to the attention. I also hate cameras in my face all the time.

My style’s been compared to: My style has been compared to Jay-Z, Drake, and even Bump J. I don’t think I sound like any of them.

My standout records and/or moments to date have been: I’m pretty big on this new song I have out. Its called “Know That” Its a good song where I was expressing myself a bit. I used a nice melody over a beat with some strings, guitars and pianos. A few moments that meant something to me was the Joey I.E. tweet, and just being noticed by artists I looked up to like Jeezy and Drake. The Kevin Durant tweet even moved me because that’s my favorite basketball player and I used to play basketball.

My goal in Hip-Hop is: To be considered as one of the greatest. I want my name to live on like the Tupacs and the Biggies.

I’m gonna be the next: I don’t want to be the next anything. I feel like its only one Bibby. I’m unique. I feel like I bring a different style to music. I make music depending on how and what I’m feeling at the moment. So you might catch me rapping about a lot of different things. I don’t want to to be stuck in a lane where I’m know for making one type of music. I like to try different flows and styles of music.

lil bibby is the best from the chi

  • Tired of the Lil/Young acronym

First time hearing, Bibby def has a future. Tough voice. Good flow.

But, remove the “Lil” and go with something like Bibby Dickerson or something. Jesus. The Lil/Young thing is so whack you’ll never get anywhere with it.

Not hating either, but that part of CHI don’t look tough at all. Just saying.

Real, man you are tripping. People focus on these singles but the best tracks he made are “No ad libs” and “the greatest” which are basically freestyles. Id tell anyone to listen to those tracks if you want to get a real feel about how truly talented this nigga and herb really are. Listen to no ab libs and you will see these dudes are the future and cheif keef cant hold their jocks when its comes to spittin. Hands down the best coming out of Chicago.

Ill check them out. But bruh my thing is i live in Englewood its crazy out here but why do niggas wanna rap about shit like that and be prideful about that. These streets is real and the last thing we need is another “Gangsta” Rapper out here making it look like its the shit. Regardless of the other singles he still rap the same shit we hear from everyone else and what i see everyday on my block.
