Just in time for summer, California duo Audio Push have infused their positive energy into an easy-listening offering. Enter The Good Vibe Tribe, the latest mixtape from Hit-Boy's HS87 go-to tag team Oktane and Pricetag.

The group first known for their hyped up jerkin' tracks has noticeably slowed things down with Good Vibe. As soon as you press play, the contagious mood of the tribe washes over the listener just as the waves wash on the shore by a bonfire. Just as the mixtape trailer and cover art teased, there’s a smooth mix of fireside crackling and studio production on each track, punctuated by conversation snippets that happen organically in situations when drugs and alcohol are involved.

The tape features guest verses from like-minded MCs G-Eazy, OG Maco, Vince Staples, Casey Veggies and Isaiah Rashad who, like the duo, are there purely for a good time. While some tracks are your run-of-the-mill collection of bedroom braggadocio and catchy hooks, a few stand out as metaphorical gems. "Jumpin'" featuring TDE's Rashad comments on how watered down the rap game has become and "Mind-Trap" with Vince Staples and Casey Veggies tackles the twisted paradigm of being Black in America.

"I tell you what, you think you turnt 'cause you got put on/But what is you doin' to put your hood on?" raps Price in "Mind-Trap." "Was the young nigga with the hood on/Hands in my pockets clenching until I realized we was all dying for nothin'."

These messages echo what Audio Push explained during their mixtape trailer before the tape dropped on April 20.

“We just want to put quality music out here to the world,” Push explained in a voiceover. “It’s too much bullshit. Muthafuckas don’t care no more.”

Even Audio Push rep Inland Empire, Calif., they name drop Kevin Gates and Gucci Mane throughout the tape and, in true party form, Lauryn Hill samples and red cups clank in the background of the audio as well.

The laid back, loud pack zeal of Good Vibe makes the storyline of the beach bonfire that much more believable. The group at hand trade war stories from house parties past, talk about the internet taking over kids' lives and debate where racial stereotypes come from. There's even a freestyle cypher. As the hook of "Refugeenius" proclaims, Audio Push refuse to “compromise the vibe"...until the cops fittingly roll up to break up the fun at the end of the last song, "Peace Pipe 1.0."

Available for free download on SoundCloud now, The Good Vibe Tribe shows train-of-thought maturity for Oktane and Pricetag and drives home a chill auditory aesthetic for the summer ahead. Good vibes are on the way.
