Ski Mask The Slump God is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated Beware of the Book of Eli project, which the Florida MC has been teasing for some time. On Wednesday (April 18), which is also the rapper's 22nd birthday, Ski blessed fans with “SKIMeetsWorld,” a cut off the project that pays homage to a 1990s TV classic.

The JamzTurnMeUp-produced tune samples the season one theme song of Boy Meets World’s, turning it into a more uptempo version. The Slump God caresses the beat with varying infectious flows and a catchy chorus throughout the two-minute track.

The “Take a Step Back” spitter implements references to popular kid’s television shows such as Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends. “Can I Bob the Build a bitch, yes I can/Can we Thomas the Train her? I think I can/Pull up with white on me like I'm Damn Daniel in Vans/My dick as long as the beak on face of Toucan Sam,” he speedily rhymes.

Even though he previewed the song as far back as November, Ski Mask ran into sample clearance issues with ABC, where composers of the show initially refused to clear the theme song for musical use.

At the onset of 2018, the 22-year-old voiced his frustrations about the legal conflict on Twitter. “STUPID MOTHERFUCKERS. YOU CAN’T GET RID OF ME, STFU ABOUT THE TAPE MY SAMPLES ARE BEING CLEARED ITS NOT EASY TO USE SHIT LIKE THE BOY MEETS WORLD THEME SONG AS A SAMPLE,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
