Boogie Joins Niia for New Song “California”
Compton rapper Boogie jumps on singer Niia's new song "California" from her debut LP, I, via Atlantic Records. The somber song finds Boogie and Niia describing an unhealthy relationship.
"'Cause every time you need me, I fall apart/And every time you trust me, I break your heart/Every time you kiss me, it's just okay/And every time you're with me, I'm far away," Niia sings.
Boogie comes in and supplies a solid verse: "I hate that you're holding me back, but I know it's the reason I grow/I hate you like having to walk through them n*ggas in front of the store/I hate that I want it, and maybe I love it, but hate that you know/Shit, I don't know."
I is out now and has been receiving great reviews. For Boogie, he's one of the best new artists to come out the West Coast in recent years. Most recently, he released the video for his song “Won’t Be the Same" off his last project Thirst 48: Pt. 2. The 13-song project was the sequel to his debut project and a standout project in 2016.
