With the release of Rich Gang: The Tour Pt. 1, there's no denying that Birdman played a key role elevating the stardom of Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan. Now he may be poised to do the same with new protégé Jacquees.

While the three are no doubt separate artists in their own right, Birdman and Jacquees' new single "Lost At Sea" certainly has echoes of Young Thug's influences. There's the mumbled run-on flows, the sudden changes in inflection, the peculiar pronouncement and elongation of syllables; they're all calling cards of Thugger, and present on this new single as well.

In an interview with XXL from January, Jacquees said of his conversations with Birdman, "It’s always game about how to take over the game and become a real monster in the game. I get a game conversation every day. He always tell me work hard and just do me and don’t worry about nothing else. Stunna thinks I’m the best. They believe I’m the best; I believe I’m the best."
