Havoc and The Alchemist Dig in the Crates for “Maintain (F*#k How You Feel)”

Havoc and The Alchemist have teamed up for the collaborative album The Silent Partner due out in May, and for now they're supplying fans with sonic appetizers for the occasion. The duo dropped "Maintain (F*#k How You Feel)" via HotNewHipHop over the weekend (April 3), the first single off the forthcoming LP.

The beat of the track is bluesy and laid back, using saxophones and sampling a soulful vintage R&B song, but make no mistake - Havoc comes hard with the wordplay and spits formidable one-liners about his hustle.

"Fresh out the dungeon, left some souls that'll never make it out/Life's a bitch but me and her just finished making out/And ever since Dilla sold The Food I order take out/Like a nigga that we gotta make and take out/Pushed the envelope like a nob on the mixer/With the fingers I fingered your wife with, nigga/I'm a fixture in this rap shit, get used to it/You not speaking what I'm speaking, better get fluent."

In a press release accompanying the track, Babygrande Records states that "The Silent Partner is a magnificently organic album that brings together one-half of the Mobb with their favorite producer for a modern day hip-hop classic." The album will feature guest appearances from Method Man and Mobb Deep's other half, Prodigy. The Silent Partner drops on May 20. The 11-track project is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
