PRhyme Debuts “Rockin with the Best” Snippet on ESPN’s ‘NBA Countdown’

A new PRhyme snippet called "Rockin with the Best" recently made its debut on ESPN. The latest Royce da 5'9" and DJ Premier track serves as the new theme song for the ESPN show NBA Countdown and premiered as part of the broadcast on Jan. 8. A video of the new open can be seen above as PRhyme's record plays as the soundtrack to the action.

A full version of "Rockin with the Best" has not been released, but hopefully Royce da 5'9" and DJ Premier will unveil that to the masses sooner rather than later. The duo also sat down with ESPN's Front Row for a short interview to talk about the new song.

DJ Premier provided a description for "Rockin with the Best" during the interview.

"The title describes us and it describes the competition that goes along with basketball, "DJ Premier said. "It’s the attitude that you need, so we wanted this track to carry that vision."

The legendary producer touched on his experience working with the staff of NBA Countdown.

"I’m such a fan of sports and ESPN is the go to channel, as soon as I wake up every single morning, in order to get the happenings of the day," DJ Premeir said. "It’s a blessing to even have the opportunity to get involved musically with NBA Countdown."

Royce da 5'9" closed out the interview by explaining how great it's been for him to work with DJ Premier.

"Working with Premier is always an honor no matter how much music we’ve made together in the past," Royce said. "Being recognized for our talents and having the opportunity to work with ESPN and the NBA is next level. You forget the magnitude of your work until your father calls you and says he just heard you on ESPN; that’s when it really hits you!
