Listen to This Unearthed Miguel Track, “U R On My Mind”

In 1999, Miguel was a 9th grader at San Pedro High School with big dreams. Having yet to make much noise on the music scene, the Grammy Award-winning singer was just trying to find his way. The "Sure Thing" singer recently unearthed a track he recorded during those pre-fame days and uploaded it to SoundCloud.

The song is called "U R On My Mind" and features a young version of classmate and rapper Blu. Anthony Williams is on the production. "NEVER BEFORE RELEASED," Miguel wrote in the description. "Recorded this song sometime in the fall of 1999 with Blu and Anthony Williams. I was 14 years old, ha. This photo was taken around Halloween 2007."

In the picture with the audio, Miguel, Blu and Williams appear in cowboy outfits. Blu starts the song off with a nimble 16 over a smoothed out boom-bap instrumental. A just hitting puberty Miguel then lays sultry vocals on the track about being lovesick over a certain young lady.
