OG Maco feels that he's been misunderstood. The 2015 XXL Freshman believes fans misread his breakout single, "U Guessed It," and classified him with rappers whose content the Atlantan finds inferior. More recently, Maco has come under fire for saying that Future's music has "destroyed countless lives." But his latest single, "Lord Have Mercy," aims to put those discussions to rest, if only briefly. Coming in advance of his major label debut, Children of the Rage, "Mercy" is the kind of contemplative cut that he presumably hopes will help reframe his output in the minds of the rap listening public.

That's not all. Maco has liberated two other singles from the project, "Bless Me" and "Handle Me." The former, produced by Phresh Produce, is an ambitious, anthemic number where Maco raps about striving to be a leader and dodging the "broads" who want to "test him." "Handle Me," which is built on the same sample as Juelz Santana's "Mic Check," employs a barked, unhinged flow, more similar to the MC's "U Guessed It" introduction than to his subsequent, more conventional work.
