For an artist the major labels (and journalists, and parole officers) have found so hard to wrangle, Chief Keef's output has been both consistent and systematic. Once emblematic of--and a major contributor to--Chicago's drill scene, a move to Los Angeles left Keith Cozart's music woozier, sadder, sharper, better. Last year, he dropped Back From the Dead 2, a sequel to the tape that made him a commodity, and a collaborative effort with Gucci Mane called Big Gucci Sosa. This year saw Sorry 4 the Weight, and the announcement of a new album, Tha Cozart. Now, "See You Later" marries his languid new delivery to trap maximalism. Keef slurs and cackles his way through the YG On Da Beat-produced track, stitching together the series of clipped syllables in a way he began last year on songs like "Voodoo." Tha Cozart will be his first official album since his 2012 Interscope debut Finally Rich, and should duly trace Keef's evolution.
