While his retirement from rap turned out to be an elaborate prank, it turns out Sir Michael Rocks was serious when he told his fans that he wanted to work with National Geographic. In his new video for "Pull Up," Rocks is depicted in a frozen tundra, ostensibly there on the travel and culture company's dime to study wildlife and frigid ecosystems. Donning a Tasmanian wolf-skin jacket (the Chicago rapper insists that it was made in a cruelty-free fashion), Rocks runs through the first single from his new project, Populair, in what we can only assume were a few very brief takes punctuated by electric blankets and scalding coffee. In the song, Mikey suggests that his album will be available for purchase through Nat Geo; it remains to be seen if this will truly be the case, but if anyone is equipped to do an ethnological rap album, it's probably the guy who specifies which species his wolf fur actually is.

Yesterday (April 1), the rapper released the trailer for a parody National Geographic show, The Rocks Report, in which he wanders through the jungle and interacts with the local inhabitants--monkeys, one of whom nearly absconds with his car keys. Watch that below and be on the lookout for Populair.
