Inglewood's Skeme returns, wavy as Max B, steering ships steady, fearing early death, talking fly shit. The swaggering new "Red Carpet (Roll Out)" is a slow burn, its creeping piano line and staid drums a perfect palette for Skeme's scowl. Likely the first single from the sequel to 2013's Ingleworld, "Red Carpet" casts Skeme as the kind of MC who is smart, engaging and witty, until he has to pull out the chrome and make his point. Producer Sean Momberger gives a master class in providing just enough menace, then fading into the blunt smoke. If this is where Skeme's head is at, South Central should take serious notice.
