Presidential candidate Ben Carson has taken an unorthodox approach to the campaign trail and he continues to do things differently with a new radio ad that features a hip-hop song aimed at youth voters. The $150,000 ad features a few bars from rapper Aspiring Mogul spliced between Carson quotes like, "America became a great nation early on not because it was flooded with politicians but because it was flooded with people who understood the value of personal responsibility, hard work, innovation and that's what will get us on the right track now."

According to ABC News, the "Freedom" ad will debut on Friday (Nov. 6) and air for the next two weeks in Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Birmingham, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi, Memphis, Tennessee and Little Rock, Arkansas. Aimed at young black voters, Carson and his team believe that if the Republican candidate can get 20 percent of the black vote, he would defeat Hillary Clinton in a general head-to-head election. "Reaching [young black voters] on a level they appreciated and follow and see if we can attract their consciousness about the election," campaign spokesman Doug Watts told ABC News of the decision to go with a hip-hop themed ad. "They need to get involved and express their voice through their vote." Whether the ad works or falls on deaf ears remains to be seen but it has certainly drawn a lot of attention on social media:
