XXLMag.com and thisis50.com have partnered with Ustream to present a live screening of 50 Cent’s directorial debut Before I Self Destruct tonight (November 19).
Fans will have the opportunity to watch the film alongside Fif tonight at 9:30 p.m. EST here on XXLmag.com. Directly following the movie, the G-Unit leader will conduct a live question and answer session with viewers.
BISD depicts 50 Cent as Clarence, a one-time basketball star who resorts to a life of crime after his mother is gunned down, fueled partly by revenge as well as the need to support his younger brother. The film, which shares the same title as the Queen’s rapper’s recently released CD, features brief appearances from Treach of Naughty by Nature and G-Unit member Lloyd Banks, who plays a schoolteacher.
It is but one of two movies that are included with 50’s new disc, currently in stores now. The other is a documentary on the rapper/actor’s deceased mentor, titled 2 Turntables and a Mic: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay.
As previously reported, Fifty will grace the cover of the forthcoming December/January year-end double issue of XXL magazine, hitting stands on December 1st.
To watch BISD with 50, be sure to tune in to XXLmag.com tonight at 9:30 p.m. EST. —Elan Mancini

i’d say good business. marketing is key to any artist’s survival. no matter where they are in their career. it is a business as well as an art. to eat from it, you got to be mindful of both.

Poor Fif… he couldn’t even get a distribution for his low budget self produced, hood glorifying excuse for film.
I actually enjoyed the film and the album, but desperate indeed.
The issue with Fif he talks so much iish about everyone and never works with anyone. Rick Ross is on everybody tracks. EVERYBODY.
Fif has no friends, and shows no growth in his music. Good Businessman. Poor PR

“Did I not say yesterday that man is more interested in the DVDs?”
And yet, he proclaimed BISD to be on the level of GRODT(which I don’t particulary care for). Does he really expect people to believe that he doesn’t care about this album’s sales? With the way he’s been marketing it? I bet he says something to that effect after the first week sales numbers are in. He stays backpedaling when his failures are concerned(see:Kanye/50 sales battle).

Ha! I knew you were gonna say something!
Of course he is concerned about the sales #’s.
But I noticed ever since he said he had a movie production company w/Mickey Rourke that this is where he’s gonna plant his feet next. The Interscope deal is officially over now.
Before I continue BISD is the 1st album I EVER copped of 50’s. For the DVDs.
Is he suffering from his own mantra? Yes.
Did he jump out the window with the GRODT comparison? Yes. Could he replicate that same fire(sales #’s) as before? No. Even Michael couldn’t after “Off The Wall” & “Thriller”.
Is he promoting the DVD’s more than the album? YES. He’s not doing promo tours or shows like Jay, Rae or Em did. Movie screenings, book signings, cologne premieres. The man is grooming himself for a transition right before our eyes. ON THE BISD BUDGET $. I’m surprised more people don’t see this.
And anyone can call it riding or what not, but I will commend the man for realizing it’s time to get another job instead of waiting to get fired for unemployment.
And yes, if this album(BISD) is not RIAA certified(circle OR triangle), it will be considered a flop.
The man is moving on, I thought y’all would be happy about this…

Well, you know, what can I say? ;)
“The man is grooming himself for a transition right before our eyes.”
“The man is moving on, I thought y’all would be happy about this…”
Good for him. Interesting though, how his chief complaint with Jay-Z seems to be that “he ain’t hood no more!”. Jay’s been making this transition for a minute, and when he does it, he’s “Mr. Knowles”, but when 50 does it, its a testament to his business acumen. Little haterism going on there? I think so(not on your part, mind you). Ya boy’s a world class hater(”Males don’t get jealous/That’s a female trait/What/you made cause you push dimes/and he sell weight?”). 50 getting bread doesn’t bother me. Its when he criticizes other’s methods of success, then has the gall to copy them.

YES! You realize they are GIVING him the ideas!
Here’s a good example of where I’m coming from:
Fif just completed 2 movies with Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer & Sharon Stone, and just went halfsies on a movie production studio with Mickey Rourke. Son actually picked up the camera himself, and started learning it, thinking about “what could I do to make this work”.
Enter Rick Ross. Now Fif has a reason to “act”. Remember he was doing more skits than diss songs with the name Curly(what Ross named him)…”Ross’ baby momma will be my model while I practice photography, she needs a paycheck…”
“Sh*t I can actually put this on the website”.
“Yo videos online are crap quality. Wait, I can do MY OWN videos…”
“Fif where’s the music???” “F*** it Jimmy just approved me after Em. I’ma put these early throwaways on a couple mixtapes and record some new stuff while I’m throwing jabs at Ross.”
“Yo I’ma put this BISD movie with the album. F*** it the JMJ doc I wanted to throw out there too. Jimmy don’t have control over those, this is MY SH*T. Anyway this will get UNIVERSAL PICTURES to look @ me, and besides I ain’t gotta worry about Jimmy no more, I maxed out.”
“Now I need promo…Beans is on what line? Damn Beans I didn’t know man, I didn’t know. But HERE’S what we can do…”
“Sh*t I forgot Beans CAN ACT TOO…”
“And I’ma sue these cats(WSHH), so this way if I don’t hit my target #’s, it don’t hurt the pockets as much…snatch their custies for my BOOBOOTV.”

50 cent first week sales should do well, but its always haters out there that wanna go against him for some reason. When it comes to Jay-Z though he can do know wrong. 50 cent is the most succesful rapper out right now besides Jay period. Now watch somebody say it aint about the money.

I respect 50’s hustle but he’s lost his touch. Jay’s lost some of his edge too. If they had beef in 03, I would be interested. Jay’s being lazy and still beating 50 lyrically, and now Curtis is stooping to calling Beanie Siegel and dissing Beyonce’. Come on bro, step your game up… most of BISD is not that great and you’re sounding worse than everyone you attack. Officer Ross, Jay and even Wayne (eww) are sounding better than you now dude… time to go back to the lab again and stop makin’ silly ass internet videos. Where’s the fire, Fif?
