Celebrities and invited fans alike gathered in downtown Manhattan on Wednesday [August 12] for the first annual Converse Band Of Ballers Tournament, hosted by Hot 97’s own Miss Info, Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg.
Dipset Capo Jim Jones, suburban sensation Asher Roth, West Coast up-and-comers Pacific Division and Kanye West’s DJ, A-Trak, were among the team captains that recruited players to face off in a friendly game of half-court basketball.
Getting knocked out early in the running was A-Trak’s “Fool Gold” and Ash’s “The Roth Boys,” leaving “The Jones Family” and Pac Div to square off for the championship.
As the two teams battled it out, video vixens Rosa Acosta (from Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”) and Xio (of 50 Cent’s “Outta Control” Remix) were cheering on the sidelines, among a few other ladies. In the end, Jones team, took home the trophy. But all in fun, the Harlem rapper said that he would like to hit the studio and collaborate with Pac Div in the future.
When asked how he plans to celebrate the win Jones said, “We gon’ get high!” [Watch Here]. –Kamaria Gboro
