1999: With a name like the Hot Boys, it seems only fitting that the rap clique would opt for the most sweltering month of the year to drop their second studio album Guerrilla Warfare. Released 20 years ago on this day, the New Orleans natives crafted what would be their most successful project as a unit, selling over 1.5 million copies.

Guerrilla Warfare was an instant hit reaching, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums. The Mannie Fresh-produced LP birthed fan favorites like “We On Fire” and “I Need A Hot Girl” which both made appearances on the Billboard Hot 100. Later achieving a platinum certification by the RIAA, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk and B.G had only just began to tap into the source that their talents would later take them.

Looking back now, realizing the success the Hot Boys achieved over the course of their careers, one can only give acclamation where acclamation is due. Check out XXL's breakdown of the 20 Best Hot Boys Songs to refresh your memory. – Miranda Johnson
