1997: Heavy D releases his first solo album Waterbed Hev, one of D's only three solo projects. After five albums as the front-man of Heavy D and the Boyz, Jamaican-born rapper Heavy D parted ways with back-up dancer G-Whiz and DJ Eddie F. The found the Overweight Lover linking with the likes of Tha Dogg Pound, the Lost Boyz, MC Gruff and Soul For Real. After its release, Waterbed Hev peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200 Chart and spawned four singles, including "Big Daddy" and "Keep It Coming."
