1.) Libya has recieved $5 Billion in the form of compensation by the Italian government for the 40 years of colonial rule within that nation. Perhaps its time for America to pony up. In Canada, we have finally gotten formal apologies directed towards the Aboriginal communities for the embarassment of integrating them into public schools and taking them away from their parents, as well as an apology to Sikhs from India, who had tried to migrate here about 80 years ago but were turned away due to racist-ass immigration policies. 40 acres and a mule may not be a suitable reparation but with Obama almost at the helm of authority, perhaps it may SLIGHTLY cleanse the pain bestowed upon black people since slavery and african colonialism.

2.) Hurricane Gustav.
Many people say that this hurricane was quite tame compared to the prior occurence three years ago. This is completely absurd. When the eye of Katrina hit, it went east of New Orleans(MISSING IT ENTIRELY) and at the time was classified as a strong Category 1 storm (Category 2 at its height). However due to the faulty levees and incompetence of EVERY sector of the American government, thousands of people had to die. So the topic of discussion would be: “Is Gustav earning the republicans points for showing ‘empathy’ for New Orleans?” What do you think about the current response by the government? Are they a bunch of apathetic bastards that are just trying to save face?

i wish everybody had the same train of thought as you, i got sick to the stomach watching how republicans and whoever that homeland security guy is; patting themselves on the back for a job well done, while through my view it’s all wateva, republicans are exploiting the hurricane situation to look good ( where were they 3 yrs ago?) even bush found time to do something (woteva)..they are trying to save face, and if the American Public is STUPID… IT WORKED FOR YA’LL

How about people who support candidates who they don’t have the foggiest idea what their agenda’s about? I mean I seen and heard people say I’m voting for McCain because I don’t like Obama and vice versa yet can’t give you a point or counterpoint as to why they like, dislike, support or not support either candidate. Many can’t even tell you the stance their preferred candidate has on even one issue. I’m not trying to sway anyone either way but I am asking nowadays for people to make an informed and intelligent choice instead of just pulling a lever because of something other than the issues this country will face in the next 4 years. We need to vote for a future and not an image. Hey I love to get your take on this, Jay.
