Kendrick Lamar is in prime position to score another massive W. On Tuesday morning (Jan. 22), the Compton, Calif. artist was announced as a nominee for the 2019 Oscars.

The rapper has earned a nomination for "All the Stars," which is a SZA collaboration from Black Panther: The Album, which is a Black Panther movie soundtrack K. Dot curated alongside Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith. The song is up for Best Original Song, where it's going against Lady Gaga's "Shallow" from the A Star Is Born. The Black Panther soundtrack is also nominated for a trophy at the awards show.

While there's no guarantee Kendrick wins the award, getting an Oscar nom is a massive deal. Having won multiple Grammies and a Pulitzer Prize, an Oscar win would shorten the list of major awards K. Dot would be able to win for the first time. Needless to say, that's not a bad problem to have.
