Los Angeles rapper Blueface, who was released from jail for his involvement in a California shooting this past weekend, has officially signed to Cash Money West. A representative for Cash Money West confirmed the signing with XXL earlier today (Nov. 21).

By signing with Cash Money West, Blueface aligns himself with the label's founders Birdman and Wack 100. He joins a roster that includes talented artists like Saviii 3rd, who signed with Cash Money West over the summer. On the Cash Money Records end of things, Orlando, Fla. rapper Glokknine signed to Birdman's original label over the summer.

The 21-year-old college football player-turned rapper is known for making chill bangers for the streets like his most popular song to date, "DeadLocs." Produced by Scum Beats, the record has been streamed more than 2.5 million times on SoundCloud within the last few months after it dropped back in January. Then, back in August, Blueface increased his hype by dropping off his 2 Coccy EP, which features other tracks like "Next Big Thing" and "2 Coccs."

Last month, the Mid City artist released his video for "Respect My Crypn." In the blue-hued visual, Blueface posts up with his fellow Crips as they throw up their set on the block. Fast-forward to this past weekend, Blueface was arrested after retaliating against a suspect who robbed him at a gas station by catching up to him in his Mercedes sedan and allegedly opening fire at the vehicle. After being arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Blueface spent the weekend in jail and was released Sunday morning (Nov. 18).

Blueface celebrated his freedom by hitting the studio to finish up a new song he's been working on. The L.A. rapper hopped on Instagram to give his fans a taste of the banger, and told them to hit up Wack 100 to drop it. According to a post uploaded to Wack 100's Instagram account yesterday, Blueface is the newest artist to be added to the growing roster.

"Just finished the whole song need y’all to go blow up @wack100 feed tellem to drop it," Blueface said in the caption.
