On Tuesday (July 24), singer Demi Lovato was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from a drug overdose.

While TMZ originally reported that the pop star had overdosed on heroin, a source close to the singer shot down the rumor and a rep for Lovato called some of the information being reported false. "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support," the statement read.

"Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now," the statement continued.

Following the news that Lovato had overdosed, the singer received an outpouring of love from the hip-hop community. "Sending Prayers for Demi Lovato you just never know what people are going through so please have compassion & no jokes but let's be encouraging so she will get the help she needs," tweeted Missy Elliott on Tuesday.

The pop singer also got love from Cardi B and Wale, who wished Lovato the best, with the "Be Careful" artist tweeting, "We love you Demi Lovato" and Wale writing, "prayers up for @demilovato." Comethazine, who is known to be a huge fan of Demi and even wrote a song about her, posted a photo of the singer playing with her dog with the caption simply a black heart.

The Roots drummer, Questlove, sent a message as well for the singer, tweeting, "damn man. really praying for her health, recovery & stability. she's a good person. heartbreaking to hear."
