Just a few short days after a video surfaced of Dame Dash publicly confronting Lee Daniels to demand he be paid in full on a $2 million debt, it appears as though the acclaimed director is ready to make amends.

During a recent sit down with TMZ, on Friday (June 29), Daniels has evidently decided to put the situation to rest. In the brief interview, the Empire mastermind vows to repay Dame after he claims to have realized his wrongdoings. “When nobody in Hollywood was giving me money, after my Academy award, unprecedented with Halle Berry, nobody was giving me money,” he says in the brief clip. “Damon’s crazy ass was crazy enough to give me money for The Woodsman and for Shadowboxer. The investment for Shadowboxer didn’t pay off.”

As previously reported,  he former Roc-A-Fella mogul lent Daniels $2 million dollars as an means to jumpstart his film career nearly a decade ago. Dame, however, reportedly failed to receive a return on his investment. The entrepreneur then took matters into his own hands and privately sued the director for $5 million dollars under the pretense of fraud.

“I am in the position now to get it to him, so I’m going to get it to him because I think that’s the right thing to do," Daniels continued. "It sadly took that wake-up call during Diana’s "Reach Out And Touch Somebody’s Hand" for me to realize that and for me to sit with myself.”

Dame eventually caught wind of Daniel's sit down with the celebrity gossip site and accepted his apology by posting a clip from the interview on Instagram. “We’re good bro,” he wrote in the caption. “Appreciate the honesty…time to move forward let’s forget the bubble gum shit and get the money.”
