Mims has pivoted into the next phase of his life in the tech world. The rapper's new RecordGram app connects artists with producers in the industry, but also makes the payment process a lot easier to navigate and understand for the creatives themselves. Now, he wants to make it even easier.

Just last week (May 17), the "This Is Why I'm Hot" rapper premiered a new idea for a "tune" token at the Crypto Influencer Summit as part of NY's Blockchain week. The fresh system will be used as a form of currency on RecordGram to be exchanged between musicians. Tune will automatically tracks artist royalty payments and all musicians' rights navigating the digital marketplace in a safe manner.

Anybody can sign up for RecordGram by downloading the application through any mobile app store. Members will be able to link up with artists and other people in the music community. The app allows recorded audio clips to be presented on your profile to show others your capabilities as a musician.

RecordGram's website states the app's main goal is to "solve digital songwriter rights and royalty transparency issues for the music industry." The 37-year-old teamed up with producer Winston "DJ Blackout" Thomas and music executive Erik Mendelson to bring the app to life.

Last year, RecordGram won TechCrunch Disrupt’s 2017 Start-Up Battlefield competition. Mims and his team became the first music-based application as well as minority owned start-up to win the coveted award in the tech industry's history.

Salute to Mims!
