Spring has sprung. It's time to hit the beach because Memorial Day Weekend is here. Have a few brews, hit a few cookouts and, most importantly, don't do any work. All of your favorite rappers held it down this week, from anticipated albums finally seeing the light of day, to splashy singles that no one saw coming. Buckle up and check out the latest edition of XXL's Best Songs of the Week.

California rap vet YG is the definition of a fan favorite, and has multiple songs that have ran past summers under his belt. Today, he freed "Big Bank," featuring Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Nicki Minaj. You will hear this song everywhere, and rightfully so; it's one of the most fun rap songs of 2018.

To take a more serious turn, we head to Virginia (where there's not much to do but cook) and catch up with Pusha T, one half of the Clipse. His solo album, Daytona, is finally here, and it does not disappoint. The Kanye West-produced track "Hard Piano" enlists the assistance of Rick Ross, and the two well-respected lyricists go at it over pounding drums and rolling piano keys.

If you like high-level, technical rapping, there's some more of that for you this week. The young rapper G Herbo teamed up with Southside and churned out a banger with "Focused." Herbo is really skilled, and jumps between a bunch of flows on the track. Denzel Curry also went crazy on his new song "Percs," making it obvious that you can never take his silence for taking time off. He's putting in the work, and covers a lot of ground here.

This will be an enjoyable weekend, so maybe you want something with a little bounce to it? The DMV's IDK heard your request, and dropped the boisterous "Star." The beat is crazy, and he's talking his talk over the entire song. Lil Uzi Vert's collaboration with Zaytoven, "Strong," off the latter's Trap Holizay album will also keep you loose for all of the upcoming parties. The beat twinkles, and Uzi shines, even singing convincingly for stretches.

Keeping up with the theme of having fun, a pair of artists who are known for letting loose decided to just do what they want this week. Tyler, The Creator dropped a new song titled "435" out of the blue, where he raps freely over his own beat. He certainly enjoyed himself, as the accompanying video shows. Also, hip-hop's best dancer this year, BlocBoy JB, decided to let a freestyle off over Nicki Minaj's "Chun Li," and he certainly did his thing, mixing in his sense of humor with solid bars.

This week's list comes to a close with two surprising collaborations. A$AP Rocky dropped his album Testing, and made waves with his FKA twigs-assisted song "Fukk Sleep." You would assume that a song between the two would be more solemn, but it sounds like trap being performed on a spaceship. While we're on flight, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie collabs with Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido for "Way Too Fly" off the forthcoming The International Artist EP. Whether it's in the New York or Africa, being fresh is universal.
