Rich The Kid has scored a platinum plaque with his Kendrick Lamar-assisted track "New Freezer."

The banger, off his upcoming album The World Is Yours, was officially certified platinum by the RIAA on March 13. The song took a while to gain steam after being dropped last September, but has since seen an upward trajectory, partly due to the New Freezer Challenge, as it entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 75 in February.

Rich says the unpredictable collab had predictable results for the two artists. "[Kendrick] was excited about it when he heard the record," Rich tells XXL about the collab. "He was like, 'Everybody is gonna listen to this everywhere,' and he was right. A lot of people really didn’t expect for me to have a record with Kendrick, but I proved them wrong. It's not easy to get Kendrick on a record, so it was a huge deal for me to have him featured on the song."

The song currently sits at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100.

RTK has very high hopes for his new LP. He recently unveiled the tracklist. "This will be the greatest album of 2018," he says. "Best hip-hop album—you heard it here! There’s no other rapper that will drop a better album than me. No one."

The World Is Yours drops on March 30.
