Hip-hop was a big winner at Wednesday's (Feb. 21) 2018 BRIT Awards, as Stormzy and Kendrick Lamar both took home a few awards.

Stormzy was one of the night's biggest winners, taking home his first ever BRIT Awards for British Male Solo Artist and British Album of the Year. The rapper beat out the likes of singers Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher for the Male Solo Artist award, while his Gang Signs & Prayer album won against Sheeran's Divide and Dua Lipa's self-titled project.

An emotional Stormzy was at a loss for words as he accepted his first award of the night. "I don't even know how I managed to achieve this," he said. "I thank God. I give this to God."

Kendrick also took home one of the night's big awards, beating Drake, DJ Khaled and Childish Gambino for International Male Solo Artist. "I just like to thank y'all for holding me down for so long, you know," the Damn. rapper said to his fans across the Atlantic. "I really appreciate this moment. I'ma always have love for y'all."

Along with his win at the BRIT Awards, Kendrick also put on an explosive performance. Continuing with the satirical theme that he started at the 2018 Grammy Awards, K. Dot took the stage with Rich The Kid to perform their collab, "New Freezer."

At the 2017 BRIT Awards, Stormzy was nominated for British Breakthrough artist but lost to Rang'n'Bone Man. Kendrick had also previously lost at the BRITs, missing out on International Male Solo Artist in 2016.
