In 2016, it was revealed that Max B's prison sentence had been shortened and the incarcerated rapper would be released earlier than expected. Now, French Montana claims Bigavelli will be free this year.

On Wednesday (Jan. 31), French posted a photo of the rapper in prison and wrote, "Wavyyyy in the joint!!! Can't wait till u get home this year #wavycrocket." While the exact date of Max B's release is unknown, French had previously hinted at the rapper being released this year.

In 2016, the "Unforgettable" rapper confirmed Max's sentence had been shortened and posted a text message conversation on Instagram that read, "all of Max charges have been dropped and he entered into a plea deal and took aggravated manslaughter. Best case scenario Max could be home in 2 years. Worst case scenario he can be home in 6."

In June of 2009, Max B was found guilty of murder conspiracy and robbery charges. Two months later, the rapper was sentenced to 75 years in prison. Since then, French has kept fans updated on Max B's status, visiting the rapper in jail and posting about it on social media.

At the time, Max B released a statement thanking his fans for the continued support. "To all my fans that been holding it down for me all these years, still banging my music and still keeping it wavy. I love you all and Stay Wavy," he wrote. "Last, but certainly not least, my lovely and wonderful mother Mamaveli, I love you!"
