A few days ago, two suspects were arrested for the murder of Chinx, who was gunned down in a drive-by shooting nearly three years ago. Now, the slain rapper's widow, Janelli Caceres-Pickens, says she's been able to move toward getting some sort of closure for her husband's tragic death.

"It's a bit overwhelming," Caceres-Pickens told Revolt at Queens Criminal Court this past Thursday (Dec. 14). "It's a bittersweet moment. I've been saying for the longest [that] I had faith in the detectives on the case. I knew they were working very hard. It's been a long two-and-a-half years. Hopefully, [it's] the beginning of the end of the last chapter of this situation. Hopefully it won't be too long before it comes to an end. And we're happy. We prayed everyday for this day."

Detectives say the two suspects, 32-year-old Quincy Homere and 26-year-old Jamar Hill, decided to find and kill Chinx in order to settle Homere's grudge against the rapper. They say Homere got the worst of a fight between himself and Chinx in prison back in September 2009. The two men, who were already incarcerated for unrelated charges, appeared in Queens Criminal Court this past Thursday. Chinx's widow says it wasn't easy to be in the same room with her husband's suspected killers.

"It was hard," said Caceres-Pickens, who spoke with XXL about her husband's legacy one year after his death. "To sit there and see the person responsible for this. Not being able to say anything. Not to give any emotion. So many things you want to say. You want to act out, but you can't. I just pray that it goes quickly and they get what they deserve."

She goes on to say these arrests have brought her children "one step closer to closure." Homere and Hill both pleaded not guilty, and they will face 25 to life if convicted of their charges, which include second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
