The death of Lil Peep has left many people with a lot of questions. The Long Island, N.Y., rapper, born Gustav Ahr, died in his tour bus in Tucson, Ariz., from an apparent overdose on Xanax on Wednesday (Nov. 15). But members of his family think the rapper's tragic passing might have been an accident.

Karl Ahr, Peep's brother, who goes by Oskar, recently talked to PEOPLE and said he has received intel that points in that direction. “We [the family] have heard there was some sort of substance he did not expect to be involved in the substance he was taking,” said Oskar. “He thought he could take what he did, but he had been given something and he didn’t realize what it was.”

He added, “It was an accident, it really was an accident. He was super happy with where he was in life.”

An Instagram post leading up to his death tells a slightly different story about the rapper's mind state at the time of his passing. It shows a man who is at least at a very crucial crossroads in his life. In the caption of a video posted the day before his death, the rapper wrote: "I just wana be everybody's everything I want too much from people but then I don't want anything from them at the same time u feel me I don't let people help me but I need help but not when I have my pills but that's temporary one day maybe I won't die young and I'll be happy? What is happy I always have happiness for like 10 seconds and then it's gone. I'm getting so tired of this."

However, Peep had big plans for the future that included getting into acting and fashion.

It can take up to two months to get the toxicology reports that will verify Peep's cause of death.
