Just a couple days removed from announcing he was terminating his new record deal with Capitol Records, XXXTentacion's erratic behavior has reached a pretty stunning conclusion. On Friday (Oct. 27), the rapper posted an Instagram story that appeared to indicate he was retiring from the music industry.

"Sad to announce I will not be making or releasing any music," XXX began. "I am tired of being mentally abused for trying to help people, I'm tired of the hate, I'm done."

X's most recent Instagram story announcement carries a tone similar to the one he posted about ending his relationship with Capitol Records. "I am not a signed artist, and I will not be releasing music for a very long time, I’m tired of this shit," he wrote in one part of that post. It seems he's been heading in that direction for a while now.

Of course, X leaving music now would mean leaving a pretty promising career. The rapper, who's set to stand trial for domestic abuse in December, garnered some very solid first week sales for his debut album, 17when it dropped back in July. That release came just a couple of weeks after he'd claimed he was going to "disappear" for a while, so who knows if his most recent claim will hold true. We'll have to wait and see.
