As the decades come and go there are only a few who can withstand the ever-changing industry that is hip-hop, and unsurprisingly, DJ Premier continues to prove he has no trouble fitting the bill.

The legendary producer was invited to host NPR's Tiny Desk Concert Series recently, and notably became the first DJ to ever do so. Backed by his tour musicians, The Badder Band—comprised of Brady Watt, Mark Williams, Lenny "The Ox" Reece and Jonathan Powell— Premo provided a few lucky journalists their best lunch on the job yet, opening his set up with KRS-One's "KRS-One Attacks" and concluding with the Gang Starr classic "Moment of Truth." If you thought listening to these tracks through your speakers was major, just wait until you hear them with some extra bass, drums and horns. Watch Premier and The Badder Band perform Nas' "Nas Is Like," Royce 5'9"'s "Boom" and more in the video below.

A few weeks back, XXL spoke to DJ Premier regarding his latest collaborative project Which Way Iz West, with MC Eiht. The album, which was available for streaming a week early, features a montage from rap legends of the past and present as part of Eiht and Premier's Geah Campaign. "And it’s gonna be so ill, we got Kendrick, Nas, everybody sent just a quick request and everybody sent their video in by their phone and did the drop," he explained to us. "So when people see how many people is on there, they’re gonna say, 'Damn, they got everybody that’s well-respected from every generation doing this Geah Campaign,' and every time I called them to say what it was, all of ’em was like, 'MC Eiht, geah' before I even got to explain it."
