B.o.B is no stranger to sharing his takes and beliefs about science and astronomy on Twitter, and now the recent eclipse is sparking him to share more of his theories. While fans continued to remark on the solar eclipse that arrived Monday afternoon (Aug. 21), the Ether rapper reveals his belief that the moon generates its own light.

It all started when one fan tweeted at the Atlanta native that the only reason we are able to see the moon is because the sun reflects light onto it, which led to B.o.B stating that the moon naturally generates its own light. While more fans continued to contest his statements with scientific facts, the entertainer accused them of simply getting their information from textbooks, which he believes are spreading false theories.

According to Live Science and many other scientific sources, the moon does not emit its own light, but simply reflects light from the sun. "The moon shines because its surface reflects light from the sun," writes the site. "And despite the fact that it sometimes seems to shine very brightly, the moon reflects only between 3 and 12 percent of the sunlight that hits it."

This is far from the first time B.o.B has caused controversy with his scientific theories and beliefs on social media. If you recall, XXL spoke with renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson last year, who responded to B.o.B's infamous flat earth theory that had Twitter in a frenzy. He even condemned the rapper for spreading the theory in the first place, and also remarked that the "real issue" had to do with the education system.
