There has been a change to the premiere dates of the upcoming documentaries on Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. that's airing on A&E. Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.will premiere on Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. EST/PST and Who Killed Tupac? will premiere in this winter.

Original Story:

While hip-hop fans are awaiting the release of the Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez On Me, hitting theaters next month, it looks like the music community can anticipate more coverage surrounding his and The Notorious B.I.G.'s stories. A&E announced this week that the network would be including two documentaries covering the stories of both late rappers on their relaunched Biography series.

The television network is slated to premiere Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. as part of the relaunched series, which will be three hours long, and is the first documentary signed off by his estate. The Mark Ford-directed documentary will actually be narrated by the late iconic MC himself through exclusive and never-before-heard interviews, as well as those who he was closest to.

As far as the story of Tupac, the network will be airing a six-part limited series produced by Renegade 83 in association with FGW Productions, and is titled Who Killed Tupac? The series follows civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump as he conducts an investigation twenty years after the tragic murder of the late historical icon.

A&E's Executive Vice President and Head of Programming Elaine Frontain Bryant spoke on the anticipated projects that will be kicking off next month.

“The late Christopher Wallace and Tupac Shakur continue to impact the world two decades after their tragic, unsolved murders and there is still a public longing to connect with these figures and to celebrate their legacies," Bryant said of signing on to the projects. “We pride ourselves in delivering projects under the ‘Biography’ banner that unearth a side of the story that the public has never seen before. In the case of “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.,” the foundation of this biography is exclusive archival footage and audio recordings of Biggie himself, packaged in a way that allows him to tell his own life story as if it's present day and we are truly excited to be able to bring that kind of intimacy and connection to his fans."

Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.'s first two hours will premiere on Wednesday, June 28 at 9 p.m., with the final hour airing Thursday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m., while Who Killed Tupac? will kick off right afterwards on Thursday, June 29 at 9 P.M.
