On "The Food," Common rapped, "The days of the fair one" were done, but in 2017, at least a few rappers are trading in their microphones for boxing gloves and trying to bring it back.

Near the top of the month, Soulja Boy and Chris Brown began airing each other out on social media, and eventually, the Instagram PSAs turned into reckless threats, and the reckless threats quickly morphed into a full-fledged boxing match, promoted by Floyd Mayweather and Adrien Broner, that will go down in the coming months. In other words, things escalated very quickly.

They continued just a few days later, when Riff Raff threw his hat into the ring with a hilarious Instagram video challenging 50 Cent to a $2 million boxing match. Following the trend established by C. Breezy and Big Soulja, Kodak Black uploaded an Instagram video challenging Lil Wayne to a hands-throwing session in the ring, claiming that the match would determine who the crown of Best Rapper Alive actually belongs to.

As if those rappers weren't enough, a video of Meek Mill challenging Drake to a $5 million boxing match surfaced just a few days ago. Meek noted that his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj would serve as the ring girl in his dream match-up with Drizzy. Just a day or so later, Nicki's ex Safaree Samuels put forth his own challenge to the MMG rapper.

Today, XXL takes a look at all the rappers who've challenged another rapper to a boxing match in the last month. Whether it's an actual challenge or a well-executed half-troll, you can read about it in our gallery up top.
