Lil Wayne Signs LSU’s Duke Riley to Young Money APAA Sports
And the legend of Lil Wayne the sports agent continues. Late on Monday (Jan. 2), Weezy used his Instagram account to announce that LSU linebacker Duke Riley had signed with his sports agency Young Money APAA Sports.
Riley concluded his collegiate career by getting eight tackles in LSU's victory over the Louisville Cardinals in the Citrus Bowl. He's now headed toward what should be a successful NFL career. Weezy and company will help him along the way.
In other Weezy-related news, it seems that someone has gotten their hands on his unreleased album, Tha Carter V. That someone is none other than entrepreneur and pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli. In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, Shkreli explained that he got the eagerly anticipated project from a "seller" and that the purchase was a legal one. He also explained that the album he owns is the real deal.
“I do have what I believe to be a two-CD, authentic, Carter V final product mixed down,” Shkreli said in the interview. “Nobody knows what Tha Carter V is. If fact, nobody can say until Lil Wayne says, ‘This is Tha Carter V. He’s controlling it. If he says, ‘You know what? That two-CD thing that Martin has? I’m gonna add some stuff. I’m gonna take a track off and put in five more.’ If he says that’s Tha Carter V, then that’s Tha Carter V, it’s his call. Not my call.”
Some time after the interview, Weezy's camp confirmed that the clip Shkreli played in his video is indeed from Tha Carter V.
