Nicki Minaj still has plenty of love for her former manager. The Pinkprint rapper praised Sickamore, who managed Nicki early in her career, for owning up to the mistakes he made during their time together.

"It takes heart to admit when ur wrong," Nicki wrote. "You can always work w/me Sickamore. Only good memories. @Sickamore thank u."

Both parties are in better spots now as Nicki Minaj is one of the biggest stars in music while Sickamore is the Vice President of A&R and Creative Director at Epic Records. But Sickamore said he did not see Nicki reaching such career heights during an interview on the Rap Radar Podcast.

"I wasn't ready to work with Nicki," Sickamore said. "I thought I was talent wise, but she was very demanding. Nicki knows where she wanted to go. Where she is now, she always knew where she wanted to go. She always knew she was gonna be that big. When I was working with Nicki, I thought she was gonna be the next Foxy Brown, the next Lil' Kim."

Nicki Minaj's success was a turning point for Sickamore. The Epic Records executive said his failure with her taught him the importance of powering through adversity.

"I always looked at that as a real low point for me. Cause when she was blowing up, I felt like a real failure," he said. "I felt like I gave up on her. I'm really happy where she is, but I felt like I can't give up on anything I believe in again just because it got hard. And that was the last time I gave up on anything I believed in."
