Joey Badass lost a family member this morning (Aug. 12). Terrell Henry, the cousin of the rapper, was shot and killed outside a Brooklyn deli after purchasing an iced tea from the establishment.

Police have provided no motive for the murder. The killer fled the scene and remains at large. Terrell Henry was a 22-year-old college student with no criminal record. He was also aspiring FBI agent according to the New York Daily News.

"No words... Just a heavy heart," Joey Badass wrote about the tragic loss on Instagram. "RIP to my cousin Terrell Henry smh... Through all the positivity there's always a negative... truly devastated 😞 #ForeverRell #ForeverJR."

An unnamed Reyes Food Market worker said there was no sign of impending violence when Terrell Henry walked into the store. Henry purchased his iced tea, walked out and crossed the street when shots were overheard. Henry's twin brother Derrell and a friend were also at the scene.

"We heard the gunshots and we turned around and saw somebody get shot and fall to the ground," Derrell Henry told the Daily News. “But we didn’t realize who it was at the time."

When Derrell Henry and the friend approached the victim, they quickly recognized who it was.

"I realize it’s my brother on the floor," Henry said. "I run to try and help him out and then a couple people in the area ... called the cops for us."

Terrell Henry's father George said his son was not involved in any gang activity. He believes his son's death was a sad case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
