What does Ghostface Killah, Mountain Dew, drone racing and skateboarding all have in common? Well, nothing really. However, the good folks over at Mountain Dew held Day of Drones event in a Brooklyn warehouse and put everything previously mentioned under one roof.

The event's purpose was to inform guests about drone racing and the potential growth the industry has. The sport is small but has a lot of room to expand and grow, a la skateboard did, very quickly. This weekend the National Championships of Drone Racing will take place on Governor’s Island in New York and the World Drone Prix in Dubai became the first million dollar drone race.

While DJ Toy spun records throughout the event, guest got served wine, horderves and had drones flying over them over their head. Jordan Temkin, a pilot for team Tiny Whoop who's currently ranked the 18th best drone racer in the United State, Jesse Perkins, the founder of Tiny Whoop, and other experts spoke about drone culture, debunk drone stereotypes and chimed in on the future of drone racing. It was definitely informative to see racers breakdown how they got involved in the industry and how some racers make a living from it. Drone racing already has major deals with ESPN and the sport is looking to make the same leap as extreme sports and cross country did in popularity (and money).

The best part of the night is without a doubt when Ghostface Killah came out and performed Wu-Tang Clan cuts like his verse from Kanye West's "New God Flow" and Raekwon's verse on "C.R.E.A.M." The performance was short but sweet and ended the night well. As the event ended, fans left feeling full, well educated and throughly entertained. That's what you call a perfect night.
