50 Cent is paying homage to a legend. In the above video, the Queens rapper spit the first verse of Nas' song "The Message" from the 1996 album It Was Written. The video is part of "Verses," a new segment on Thisis50 produced by Jeremy Bettis where your favorite artists recite lyrics from some of their favorite songs.

Outside of the digital realm, 50 Cent has been very busy in the television world. The G-Unit leader just expanded his deal with Starz to develop a new superhero show called Tomorrow, Today. The rapper built a strong relationship with the network as a producer of their hit series Power, which is currently in its third season.

"I am looking forward to continuing my relationship with my Starz family, we have had great success together on Power and I am excited to get going on all of our upcoming projects together," 50 Cent said in a statement. "I knew Starz would be the perfect home for Tomorrow, Today. This project is very personal to me… creating it, writing it, finding the best team for it and I will continue to be involved every step of the way."

Tomorrow, Today will tell the story of a military veteran from Chicago who was falsely imprisoned and became the test subject for a prison doctor’s experiments to create the perfect man. After breaking free, the vet must find a way to use his new powers for good. 50 is hoping to get Yasiin Bey to star in the show.
