Young Thug is a lot things; he's a rap star, a proud papa, a self-described stoner and now, he's a platinum selling artist as well, as his track "Best Friend" has officially moved a million copies and received its official RIAA certification. Thugger announced the milestone via Twitter this weekend (July 2), thanking his slime soldiers and asking, through a hashtag, what gold even is (although, his song "Stoner" is currently between gold and platinum certifications).

The true cause for celebration though is that "Best Friend" is the first solo Thug song to reach the one million mark, with his Rich Gang tune "Lifestyle" achieving that back in December of 2014. When Young Thug appeared alongside Lyor Cohen on CNBC's Follow the Leader back in April, the rapper told his label boss that he wanted 10 no. 1 singles in the coming year, to which Cohen responded, “10? If you don’t freestyle and you actually work on the singles and record great choruses and develop your songs. Yes.”

"Best Friend" going platinum then may signify Thug's dedication to his chart-topping goals. His featured verse on Usher's "No Limit" certainly moves his music in that direction. The two performed the song, which is expected to appear on Usher's upcoming Flawed album, at this year's BET Awards, with Thug appropriately decked out in diamonds. As he writes above, "whats gold?" Congratulations are extended Young Thug's way as he celebrates the milestone.
